Week 9 - League Championship
This week is an individual tournament with trophies for the 1st and 2nd place players. Each player has a course handicap that determines how many strokes they will be given.
I have all the scorecards made up with your handicap, and have the holes marked where you get additional strokes. The first line of the card has your name, and on this line you will put the gross score for each hole. The last line of the card has "Net" and this will be your net score for that hole. For instance, Paul shoots a 7 on the par 5. His gross score for that hole is 7, and I see that he gets 2 strokes on that hole, so his net score is a 5.
Each member of the group will be scoring a DIFFERENT member of that groups round. This prevents stroke shaving :). Prior to the round you will switch cards with someone and that person will keep track of your score. At the end of the round the scorer must sign and date the card on the Scorer line, and the player must sign the card on the Attest line. Ask Michelle Wie what happens when you do not sign your score card.
These are the groups for the round with their handicaps. I would rather not tee off shotgun style so I can put a CTP on 18.
Group 1: Scott Moore 18
Jerry Dempsey 29
Tom Cross 43
Clay Deveny 45
Group 2: Bob Budnek 26
Lamar Bailey 31
Paul Grey 38
Sabra Snypp 34
Group 3: Kurt Mueller 20
Rita Rupnow 27
Charles Herndon 45
$10 prize for closest to pin on hole #5.
$10 prize for closest to pin on hole #18.
Currently there is a 60% chance of rain tomorrow. We will show up at the course regardless, and see how it looks.
Nice day yesterday, the rain held off and some good scores were put up.
After all the scores were added up we had a tie for 1st place between Sabra Snypp and myself. USGA rules state that if a playoff hole is not available, you go to the score cards and to the #1 handicap hole which is hole #8. Sabra scored a 3 (net 1) on #8, and I scored a 4 (net 3) on #8, therefore Sabra is the league champion.
Congratulations Sabra!
Here are your hole by hole scores:
Congratulations to Sabra Snypp for closest to pin on hole #5.
Congratulations to Rita Rupnow for closest to pin on hole #18.
Thanks to Jason Nixon for subbing and shooting a miserable 65.
